Horse & Saddlery Sale

Bowe & Lidbury horse sales are conducted on the 2^nd Thursday of the 2nd month at the Maitland Saleyards, commencing at 11 am.

Approx 1,000 horses are sold each year with Maitland being one of the oldest selling centres for horses in the country.  Our sales attract buyers state-wide.  Commencing with yard horses followed by a led and ridden section, the auction concludes with the sale of saddlery and equipment.

Should you be selling a horse at these sales we recommend they are delivered at the saleyards before 10 am allowing ample time for inspection by buyers prior to the sale, giving your horse every opportunity to achieve the best price.

If you have not sold with Bowe & Lidbury before, you are required to provide your ABN details (if applicable) together with trading details and contact information prior to the sale.

Agent fees:

Horse                                      10% of selling price + GST

Saddlery                                  15% of selling price + GST

Maitland Saleyard Fees            $13 per head + GST

IMPORTANT NOTE:  All intending on riding a horse on the day MUST wear the appropriate riding attire together with an Australian Standards approved safety helmet.
