Just a touch under 800 cattle yarded today. Quality and condition was mixed throughout however, we saw those good quality Angus steers selling up to 30c/kg dearer. The export market was firm to slightly better.

Today we saw a total of 675 cattle which consisted of 630 Vealers/Trade and 45 Export cattle. A good yarding of Butcher vealers and Angus restockers were on hand.

Restocker Angus steers 280-380kgs 640 to 710c/kg, Best yard returning $2,554; Euro & Euro x steers 280-380kgs 500 to 670c/kg; Restocker heifers 200-300kgs 500 to 715c/kg; Butcher vealers 540 to 618c/kg; Angus milk & 2 tooth steers +380kgs 550 to 670c/kg; Other breeds of milk & 2 tooth steers +380kgs 490 to 570c/kg; Bullocks & grown steers 380 to 450c/kg; Cows 270 to 350c/kg; Bulls 270 to 300c/kg.

Maitland saw 700 liveweight cattle today. Made up of 650 vealers/trade cattle and 50 export cattle. We saw a firm export market this week and the restocker market was firm to 70c/kg stronger in places.

Restocker steers up to 250kgs 520 to 840c/kg, avg 688c/kg; Restocker steers 250-300kgs 520 to 725c/kg; Restocker steers +300kgs 540 to 700c/kg; Restocker heifers up to 300kgs 470 to 720c/kg, avg 630c/kg; Restocker heifers +300kgs 500 to 655c/kg; Butcher vealers 570 to 620c/kg; Euro steers & heifers to go on feed 610 to 750c/kg; Milk & 2 tooth steers 500 to 600c/kg; Cows 260 to 365c/kg; Bulls 260 to 280c/kg.

Highlights: A/c Riverpatch sold their annual run of weaners with the steers averaging 645c/kg, 362kgs to return $2,340 and the heifers 610c/kg, 335kgs for $2,052.

Reduced yarding of 250 head this sale due to the wet weather and flooding. The quality was good with some handy pens of Angus steers weighing 320-350kgs selling well. Lighter restocker cattle were 20c/kg cheaper in places, while the better heifers and vealers were firm.

950 cattle yarded. Most cattle showed the affects of the wet weather over the past month. Overall the market was good, a bit cheaper in places as our local demand has slowed up due to the rain and floods. Buyers in attendance from Dunedoo, Merriwa, Scone, Coonamble, Central Coast and local area.

Highlights include: – A/c Allynbrook Park, N & L Brown sold a very good run of quality Angus weaners, they were the feature attraction of the weaner section. Their steers topped at $2,175 selling to W P Grazing. They secured two pens of the Allynbrook weaners. The second pen topping at $2,100. The heifer portion topped at $2,200 selling to T & J Bowd, Mindaribba; A/c Barnett Rural Holdings, Gresford sold the top pen of Angus heifers & calves for $4,000 to R & G Harris of Chads Creek.

420 cattle yarded today with light Angus and Euro weaners featuring. The market trend was firm to 30c/kg dearer in places.

Butcher vealers 515 to 570c/kg; Angus weaners 200-300kgs steers 710 to 915c/kg; Angus weaner heifers 200-320kgs 645 to 810c/kg; Euro x weaner steers 660 to 825c/kg; Euro x weaner heifers 630 to 710c/kg; Yearling Angus steers 580 to 710c/kg; Yearling heifers all breeds 525 to 625c/kg; Grown steers 400c/kg; Cows 310 to 390c/kg, avg 365c/kg; Bulls 270c/kg.

280 cattle yarded today. Reduced numbers due to the wet weather. All regular buyers in attendance with stronger competition in the trade and export markets.

This yarding saw a total of 380 head. Quality and conditon was fair overall with a good line of restocker cattle yarded. Trade cattle were firm to dearer on heifers and slightly cheaper on 300kg steers. Export cattle remained firm, best vealers firm, restocker heifers 5-10c/kg dearer, light steers firm to 5c/kg dearer, heavy steer weaners lost 10c/kg and yearlings were 10c/kg better. There was another Maitland Saleyards record broken today with black Limousin weaner steers making $8.70c/kg.
